I landed in Buffalo, warmed up the car (it's 18 degrees here), and headed for home. Then I decided to see how easy it would be to set up a blog for us. So here it is. I'll e-mail the address to you.
This is basic for now. We can make changes along the way -- pictures and colors and stuff.
Hope everyone got where they planned to be today. It is good to be home!!
I am a litte unbelieving that I am actually making an entry here... ... I have never Blogged ... I have blahed, blahed, blahed... but never blogged. Now, remind me how I can tell it to NOT let me get any emails but all of yours?
ReplyDeleteNancy and I made the trip to Raleigh just fine, after dropping Maggie off at the Asheville ariport... Maggie, hope the rest of your "legs" on the trip went well...
Thanks for setting this up Mary Ellen...
Thanks, Mary Ellen. I miss everyone already. When I got home, Jack (my dog) was not in sight. I called once and he came up over the hill and just looked and looked. I called again and he ran to be with a vigour and love that sent me over the edge. He was ectastic! Did I say, I love my dog? Bo is well also!!
ReplyDeleteLove and kisses, Pierrette
this is great, Mary Ellen, THANK YOU! i had an interesting trip home. if you follow nat'l weather, you might know about the ice storm that hit - it may have hit you by now in nc. i got to louisville mon night, stayed another night out of the pack, to go to the orthopod tues. warnings were stay off the roads, etc, etc. i phoned to see if the office would be open, they thought so. about 5" of snow fell during the night. i phoned again after crawling along the roads to get close. they were closed. so, onward through the sleet the last 50 miles home. i arrived safely, thanks be to god, and have power. even internet!
ReplyDeletelove to you all, sherry
I too am a Blog Virgin, so -whoo!-this is quite a thrill! Thanks, Mary Ellen, for setting this up; you're a genius to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteVery good to be back in the puer forcefield. They are such loves, and so weirdly male. I picked up the boys from school on Monday and John said, "So Mom, did you win?"
They loved sharing the Shadow Cake, couldn't believe we had any left, and that we'd chosen to nibble on cheese and veggies instead of gorge ourselves on cake. ("Mom, YOU didn't do that, did you?")
Here's an idea based on my rich and wonderful experience yesterday with my peer group in Nashville: do you think we might try an online peer group from time to time? At least I am glad we have each other easily accessible now, and I know we can check in with questions if it seems right. It's clear to me that the Haden Way is quite different from the Shalem Way! More about that later if you want to hear --
Bliss and blessings to all of you - hope the snowbunnies among you are snug!
-Laura
Hey,
ReplyDeleteTell us your experience, Laura, of the Haden Way being quite different from the Shalem Way! I'm curious.
Being back to work the last couple of days, I continue to have the good air of Haden in my lungs, breathed deeply into my cells... there is the pace at work ... we are growing so incredibly quickly ... everyday there is always much on my plate at work that must be completed in the required very timely manner. I continue to desrie, and to have as my focus, creating a new paradigm ... the big circle being "life" ... not work... such that work is a smaller part of "life." So, the encouragement I hold in having been with all of you this past weekend continues to be with me... I am mindful of all of you...
-In Love,
Suzanne
struggling to post. let me see if this goes through. Pierrette
ReplyDeleteah - now I learned something. I know that I will not remain connected to you lovely, gracious women if I don't write. Short update. Am writing everyday, playing with Jack, planning a Body, Mind, Spirit expo with others in my area, talking about Jung, dreaming. an on-line peer group would be great and generous. Love and kisses, Pierrette
ReplyDeleteLike Suz, I, too, am curious about the Haden way versus the Shalem way. One woman priest who filled out my survey for final paper, indicated an interest in SD training, so I gave her the Haden website. She made a comment about not liking Shalem and we didn't have time to explore it further..so am very interested in Laura's take on it.
ReplyDeleteMissing all of you.
Blessings,
Nancy
Hello, Everyone! It's really good to be with all of you. I know I missed a lot by staying home with Joelle, but after a few poochie crises, my husband, Bob, told me he appreciated my being home.
ReplyDeleteSherry, I'm so glad you made it ok.
Mary Ellen, thank you for helping me overcome my reluctance to go public. Several friends have offered before. You and Haden!
I'm interested in the comparison of Haden and Shalem, too. I attended two day-long conferences at Shalem, on SD and on Group Retreats. I liked the brand-new director of Shalem very much, and just as much the director of the retreat and group program, but the director of the SD program, an ex-religious (as am I), seemed rigid and secretive to me. She didn't give answers to several (I thought important) questions I asked, told me to "come and see". I got the idea, which may be incorrect, by the way, that that program might be too doctrinaire for me, and more importantly, that I wouldn't be able to tolerate the closed atmosphere. I have a UU acquaintance who loved Shalem, but she, too, never gives out any details.
If anyone else is familiar with the SD program at Shalem, I'd love to hear. I do recommend the director of the Group and Retreat programs. Her name is Ann.
